The Build

Building a successful marketing campaign of any kind is much like building a house. There are lots of big details to go over, but the little details are usually where it really comes together.

To use this analogy more specifically, I want you to think of a nice, mid-sized home, between 2-3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, and so on…Got the image, good.

So first you need to find the location – for marketing the location is where you’re going to put your advertising, and how you’re going to integrate into your business

Second you need to plan – this is the exact same for marketing, find out the purpose of your marketing campaign, and goals, (do you really need that third bathroom?) or (stairs, or single level) this is by far the most important step, much like a house, if you can be detailed (with room to breath) you’ll end up with what you really wanted, and will work the best

Third (not including permits – but you need them for marketing as well) is to build – building a marketing campaign takes time, money, and most importantly dedication. There is going to be bumps and stumbling blocks, but there worth it.

Four, is to inspect, – go over everything, check, and re-check the campaign, is that image where you wanted it to be, or the colours really reflecting your business, if so move on, if not – well go back to step 2, and 3.

Fifth is to enjoy it, and really enjoy it – much like building a house, we often move in, and see things we would like to change right away, but take a moment, a deep breath and enjoy.

If you approach your marketing campaign or your clients marketing campaign in this manor, generally things will run pretty well, and for those who are not in the marketing world, I find this analogy really helps them to see the process.

That’s all for now, thanks for the drink!
