Follow-up, the king of building business relationships

Recently I was in a meeting a few hours away from our office.
When I was done the meeting, I drove back, and quickly sent a “Thanks for a Great Meeting” email.
This is what we do after every meeting, and something I stress as important
However, I received an email a few hours later from the client, and she was amazed.
Not only did the meeting go well, but she wondered if we used a software program to send out follow-up emails.
I told her “No, I like to send a personal email, as I want it to relate to our conversation.” Then I thanked her for the complement
Sometimes we just don’t want to spend the time with the follow-up, but those few minutes make a long lasting impression
