Currently experiencing technical difficulties
Posted on | January 18, 2010 | No Comments
Over the past week, we have discovered something interesting at Muirhead Marketing, our website was not working / not working well in IE (Internet Explore). We tried a few different ideas, but now have come to terms with what we hoped we could avoid – Our Site Is Down.
So, what happens when you experience technical troubles online (as it will happen)?
1. Don’t panic, and don’t throw your computer across the room!
2. Research quickly – see where your having troubles i.e. IE!
3. See if you can resolve the issue yourself – it may be because you entered a picture that’s just a little big
4. If you can’t resolve the issue, accept that fact, and call in the troops
5. When you do take something down, apologies to those who might end up on your site, (or whatever may be the issue) and try and give them alternative options
6. Once it goes live again, thank people, but resist the urge to send an eBlast – unless your a site like Facebook, then people want to know ASAP!
Even some of the big boys of the internet have downtime. The main thing to keep in mind is that it’s manageable, and to keep people informed of what’s going on.
